CLINICS
FLU VACCINATIONS
In accordance with Department of Health
Guidelines we recommend an influenza vaccination for patients aged over 75 years
or those with diabetes, chronic heart, lung or kidney disease and residents of
nursing and rest homes. The vaccination is available in October; please contact
the practice nurse for further details.
NON-NHS
EXAMINATIONS
If you need a special examination, eg for
fitness to undertake sports, pre- employment, HGV or elderly drivers, this will
be undertaken during a special appointment and a fee will be charged. The current
rates are displayed in the waiting room.
MINOR
SURGERY
The doctors perform minor
surgical operations before which you will be asked to complete a consent form.
CERVICAL
SMEARS
These
are carried out by the practice nurses. There is a recall system operating but
if you are not called when you think appropriate, please contact the surgery.
We urge all ladies between the ages of 25 and 60 years of age to take advantage
of this screening programme.
VACCINATIONS
AND IMMUNISATIONS
Both for children and adults. Advice and immunisations
are given for patients travelling abroad by the practice nurses.
ANTENATAL
CLINICS
Clinics are run in conjunction with the
doctors and the attached midwife for expectant mothers.
FAMILY PLANNING
A comprehensive
service is available during normal surgery consultations.
BABY
AND CHILD HEALTH SURVEILLANCE CLINIC
This clinic is held on
a Wednesday afternoon by the health visitors, doctors and practice nurses.
DIABETIC CLINIC
This clinic is operated by the practice nurse who monitors
diabetics on a regular basis.
There
are additional clinics as follows:
• Antenatal clinic - Tuesday morning
• Physiotherapy
clinic - Monday and Thursday
• Advice counsellor - Friday morning
• Child health
clinic - Wednesday 1.30 - 3.30pm
(These clinics are accessible following
referral by the doctor.)
