PRACTICE STAFF

PRACTICE NURSE

Rhonda Boden is our practice nurse and is skilled in a variety of tasks. She performs health checks on new patients and the elderly. She also runs well person checks, undertakes cervical smears, gives contraceptive advice, administers vaccinations and gives advice about travel abroad and healthy lifestyles. She also monitors patients with diabetes, asthma and heart disease.

PHYSIOTHERAPIST

Tony Peach is our physiotherapist who sees patients for a range of treatments. Referral is usually via a doctor.

HEALTH VISITORS

We have health visitors attached to the practice who give advice on health care, particularly to expectant mothers, young children, the elderly and those with disabilities. They also run a child health clinic at the surgery on most Wednesday afternoons.

DISTRICT NURSES

There is a district nursing team, employed by the PCT, attached to the practice. Referrals are usually made by a doctor.

COMMUNITY PSYCHIATRIC NURSES

These are based in the building and patients are referred to them by a doctor.

MIDWIFE

Shirley Jones is our attached midwife who runs a clinic for antenatal patients at the surgery.

HEALTH CARE ASSISTANT

Audrey Fieldhouse is with us five mornings a week to take blood samples, some wound dressings, perform ECGs and conduct smoking cessation sessions.

PHARMACY ADVISER

Gillian Grainger advises the doctors on pharmaceutical matters.

ADVICE COUNSELLOR

We have an advice counsellor in attendance on Tuesday afternoons to give advice to patients about a variety of non-medical topics.

PRACTICE MANAGER

Mrs Lynda Fieldhouse is our practice manager who is responsible for the administration of the practice. If you have any suggestions about improving the practice administration or other aspects of the service we offer, please address them to her in writing.

ADMINISTRATIVE STAFF

Mrs Fieldhouse is supported in her duties by the administrative team comprising Ruth Mann, Jill Mahiques, Janet Pye, Julie Richards, Sara McGregor, Elizabeth Bryan and Margaret Baker.
